Who this workshop for: This course offers an Introduction to Basic Teacher Training for those who have their subject specialism and wish to write and deliver a course, but have no education qualification and little teaching experience.
What to expect:
Workshop 1: Basic Teaching Skills, Education Theory & Practical Planning. (5hours /10am-3pm /Saturday 21st Sept)
Workshop 2: Micro Teaching, Feedback and Reflective Practice. (5hours / 10am-3pm / Saturday 28th Sept)
In addition, 2 hours home study is recommended between the first and second session.
These two, professional development 5 hour workshops are delivered in a supportive and informal atmosphere, introducing theory in a practical way. Tailored to build on learners pre-existing knowledge, improve teaching confidence and help create exciting and successful courses in preparation for delivery.
Price: £200 (Discount available for Ayres House Studios Members) To help prepare learners to sucessfully run courses and workshops, those attending also recieve valuabe editable templates. These include registration forms covering medical information and GDPR, media consent, learner conduct, a disclaimer, resource form, course overview and lesson plans.
What to bring: Resources for making notes. A charged laptop or tablet. Packed lunch.
About your tutor: Emma Souter is an Artist and qualified Adult Learning Tutor and has worked in education since 2006 teaching both non-accredited and accredited courses. Emma has worked for many respected organisations including Buckinghamshire Adult learning, MIND, artsmart, Daler Rowney, The Manchester College, Milton Keynes College and The British School of Upholstered Furniture. Her roles in education have been as an education coordinator, assessor, mentor and as a tutor; which have included working in family learning, staff training, public demonstrating, offender learning, leisure class and private tuition.
