The relationship between time and experience of place inspires Laura’s work as an expressive multi-media artist. Through mark making she explores her connection to location, recording moments experienced while working at the edges of the land. Significant local environments such as Wittenham Clumps and those chosen for their rugged qualities, sense of light and exposure such as Cornwall and Snowdonia have been inspirational starting points. A variety of found and other media is used to explore the spontaneity of mark making that strives to communicate the pace, flow and movement witnessed working outside. The reflective conversations that take place through the handling of weathered sketchbooks are a vital part of her development.
