Monthly Painting Workshops
These monthly 3hour workshops are ideally suited to art students, amateur painters and artists working from home, who are looking for additional and ongoing support, tuition, feedback and advice with their painting development and projects.

Outdoor Acrylic Painting for Kids age 7-14yrs

Kids Art Club with Lisa Clark
The 4th of 4 Monthly (2 hour) Art Workshops for Spring Term 2024, designed for children aged 8-14 years old and delivered by Lisa Clark of ‘The Art Shed’ Session 4: Exploring techniques in watercolours. The children will experiment with crayon, salt and surgical spirit to create texture to form a basis for a coral reef inspired painting.

A short, relaxed and informal workshop which will show you a great method to prevent you from getting in the way of your words.

Session 2: Exploring oil pastels and texture making. This workshop will involve the children exploring oil pastels and creating textures on black paper.
Mosaic Heart Workshop with Emily Cooling
Create a beautiful hanging heart mosaic from vintage crockery glass, tiles and beads. This 3 hour mosaic workshop is perfect for the complete beginner as well as for those wishing to indulge in a bit of creative ‘me time’. Learn how to use cutting tools, fix and grout.

Josie Clouting / Moving Landscapes
Visit the gallery at Ayres House Studios to see Josie Cloutings new artworks and works in progress, inspired by the Hardangerfjord region in Norway; a dramatic landscape shaped by glaciers and waterfalls.

Directions: Ayres Yard can be hard to spot from the road, turn in between the petrol station and ‘Keri' the Florist’ on Station Rd (Don’t rely on the sat nav).
Parking: Available at 3 local carparks just 2 minutes walk from the studios.

Wallingford Live Advent Calendar Trail: Window No 1
The live advent calendar will launch at the Ayres House Studios on Thursday 1st December and finish on the 24th Dec at the Waterside Court care home. Businesses and residents alike are all welcome in taking part in this trail.
A full map of the locations for the window displays will be released on 25th November and available on the Town Council website.
Window No 1 will be open on Dec 1st from 4.30pm.
The studios can be hard to spot from Station Road. Turn in between the petrol station and Keri the Florists. There is no parking for this event.
Advice for enjoying the trail: Dress warm and reflective. Bring torches. Keep children close.
Introduction to weaving with Rachel Ashman
Weave a small wall hanging on a frame loom. Learn how to warp the loom, basic weaving techniques and how to remove and hang your wall hanging on a dowel rod.

Oxfordshire Artweeks Open Studios
Over 16 professional artists and makers at one great venue. Discover the artists, their processes and works in progress, at our former Rectory and multi-disciplinary artists studios. As well as practising, experimenting and researching in their various fields, many sell work nationally and internationally, provide services, teach and take commissions.
Studio disciplines range from ceramics, painting, drawing, sculpture, performance, video, sound, installation, mosaics, photography, dance, print, textiles, upholstery, conservation and writing. A series of two hour evening classes over five weeks where you will learn how to create your very own mosaic out of broken and unwanted china. You could make a mirror either for the garden or inside or a wall plaque. All materials, tools and guidance is provided as well as light refreshments.
