Elizabeth Gordon
Handbuilt Pottery
‘ I have come to pottery via photography and sculpture and now love the freedom and happenstance of making and firing pots of all shapes and sizes. Mainly I am interested in shapes and textures. I work with crank and lavafleck clays for larger pots and bowls, with porcelain paper clay often mixed with coarse black clay for my little pinch pots. At bisc they are decorated with oxides and engobes then glazed with white tin or transparent glazes usually brushed on. All my work is individually handbuilt and fired in an electric kiln.
I am endlessly grateful to my pottery teacher Jane Hansen for her patience and enduring enthusiasm for all things made of clay.
All proceeds from any sales to go to the Wallingford Family Centre.’
